Allwyn brings inaugural Allwyn x McLaren Racing event to Athens
Lucerne, Switzerland, 24 August 2026: Allwyn AG (Allwyn), the multi-national lottery and gaming company, and McLaren Racing are bringing Formula 1® closer to fans in Greece. On 3rd October 2026, Allwyn x McLaren Racing: Live in Athens will mark the first event in a global series designed to create immersive experiences for fans.
Allwyn will host the reigning Formula 1® World Constructors' Champions at a live showrun outside of the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens (OAKA). Steeped in centuries of sporting history, Athens will experience the iconic speed, glamour and entertainment of the pinnacle of motorsport.
In a landmark moment for both Greece and Allwyn, thousands of fans will have the chance to see the 2025 Formula 1® World Constructors' Championship-winning car and Ayrton Senna’s legendary McLaren MP4/6 Formula 1® car roar through OAKA on a bespoke track. Moreover, fans will get to enjoy watching the two-time World Champion Mika Häkkinen, who won his titles with McLaren, behind the wheel once again. Former F1 drivers and talent will be in attendance, alongside modern and heritage show cars on display, and unique fan zone and entertainment experiences will make the event unforgettable.
This event is the first of a brand-new global series bringing immersive motorsport experiences directly to fans in key Allwyn markets, such as Greece. It’s just one of the many ways Allwyn brings more – more thrills, more excitement and more chances for fans to get closer to the world of Formula 1®.
Pavel Turek, Chief Officer Global Partnerships at Allwyn, said: “Launching this global event series in Athens is a major milestone for our partnership with McLaren Racing. At Allwyn, we are always looking to bring more – whether that’s more unforgettable moments or more fans closer to the sports and entertainment they love. Bringing more speed, thrills and excitement to this iconic sporting location is the perfect way to introduce our international event platform and entertain more fans around the world.”
Jan Karas, Chairman and CEO at Allwyn Hellas, said: “We are incredibly proud to bring an event of this scale to Athens. We’re expecting to welcome thousands of fans in October, which will make Allwyn x McLaren Racing: Live in Athens one of the largest motorsport fan experiences ever held in Greece. This demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class entertainment and unforgettable experiences to our customers and Greek motorsport fans.”
Louise McEwen, Chief Marketing Officer at McLaren Racing, said: “Our fans are at the heart of everything we do at McLaren Racing, and while not everyone can experience a Grand Prix weekend in person, we’re always looking for ways to bring the team closer to them. We’re excited to partner with Allwyn to bring this unique event to Athens and connect with our passionate and growing fan community in Greece.”
